Is Dwight Howard to the Bulls really a possibility?
I read the article on the blog and I'm really skeptical as to Dwight Howard being a realistic option for the Bulls. I've not really read buzz about it so I was curious if anybody actually heard something like that. I see the Lakers being thrown around as a possibility but nobody else.

I heard a podcast of pti just now and wilbon was talking about the Bulls putting a package together to try to get Howard. Of course he is a huge chi-town homer but I can hope can't I? Anyway it'll be interesting to see what they do. They certainly have to do something though. They were exposed for sure.

Everything that I've heard to date is that if the Lakers want him, they got him -- apparently Dwight Howard REALLY wants to be in LA - especially after seeing what the Heat have done. I don't think there's anywhere else for him to go. Question is: will Jim Buss finally end his love affair with Andrew Bynum

The Bulls don't really have anything Orlando would want-good draft picks, cap relief, or new bodies to build around. Howard and Arenas have contracts worth a combined $36m, so to match up Chicago would probably have to trade Boozer, Noah and Deng or bring a 3rd team into the deal. Noah's young and valuable but not close to worth Howard. Deng is good but not a franchise player, and in terms of trade value right now, Boozer's actually a huge negative given his terrible reputation right now and his bloated contract. The only way the Bulls move Boozer is to another team desperate to unload another horrible contract. Arenas may have the worst contract in the league, but it's only for 3 more years-Deng has 3, Boozer has 4 and Noah has 5, so they'd actually be worsening their cap situation for years to come by trading with the Bulls. And the Bulls will likely be drafting in the 20s for a while, so their picks have little to no value. The only way I can possibly see this happening is if Dwight Howard decides to force a trade and Orlando refuses to send him to LA or LA stubbornly refuses to give up Bynum, but even then I suspect someone else would offer a better deal than the Bulls (Denver, Oklahoma City, and Golden State off the top of my head could easily make better offers).
